Living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Thursday, June 13, 5 PM

Jeanne Reeder, a licensed social worker with the Alzheimer’s Association will address the challenges family members face when a loved one has memory loss. As an expert on dementia, Reeder will answer some common questions, and provide the support and resources to help families navigate this difficult chapter of life. This event is open to families of The Piper only and will take place in our community room. We will host a similar event for community members next month.

Cheer on the T-Bones, Wednesday, June 19, 11:05 AM

We will be taking residents on The Piper bus to root, root, root for the home team, the T-Bones. Families are welcome to join, however RSVPs are required along with personal transportation. This event is only for residents of The Piper.

Pop-Up at The Piper, Tuesday, June 25, 3-6 PM

We’re having a Pop-Up at The Piper! We will be turning our front parking lot into a farmer’s market with two food trucks, Cajunation and Traci’s Shaved Ice, Moxie mobile boutique, local vendors including TNR Hills Farm, Frankenbees, Rowe Ridge Winery, White Rose Soap, and more. We’ll also have live music. We welcome all members of the community to this fun and exciting event!

Connect the Dotte, Second Tuesday of the Month at 8:30 AM

Every second Tuesday of the month, we host Connect the Dotte in our community room. This networking event allows business owners, employees, leaders and other professionals in Wyandotte to connect and discuss the best ways to support each other.

Coffee & Conversation, First Thursday of the Month at 9:30 AM

Every first Thursday of the month, unless specified, we will host breakfast for all members of the community and have a brief informative program on a variety of topics.

  • Sharing & Saving Stories, Tuesday, July 11: The National Storytelling Network connects people to and through storytelling. A member of NSN will join us for a special Coffee & Conversation as we learn some techniques to preserve our memories and share our stories for generations to come.
  • Stem Cell Therapies and Aging, Thursday, August 1: Ideal Health provides revolutionary medical procedures to help people live their healthiest lives. Where other avenues have failed, Ideal Health uses stem cell therapies to treat pain, arthritis, gastrointestinal issues, pulmonary health, and even Alzheimer’s. Join us for this unique presentation on stem cell therapies for aging issues and memory loss.
  • Kick Neuropathy to the Curb, Thursday, September 5: Peripheral neuropathy is a result of damage to the nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord. It often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet. Dr. Blaine Kingsbury will talk about cutting-edge technology to treat neuropathic pain.
